IELTS WRITING EXERCISE

Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The balance between male and female is one of the issues that has spread lately. It has been an important part of our life. Almost all policies focus on the balance between both, male and female. This issue has entered in all aspects in our life. One aspect that is influenced is higher education. Universities as the higher education institution should accept equal numbers of students in every subject. Some people agree with it but others disagree.

The reasons why university should accept equal numbers of students in every subject are first, it will be fair that both have got the same chance to study at university level. They will, therefore, share their knowledge, ideas. In addition, different sexes have different style when they are in groups, so all members can learn how to understand each other. That is additional experience that they will get from.

In contrast, each student has right to choose what subject they want to study. Therefore, universities should categorize students into subjects that they want to study . As a result, each subject will have different numbers of students. Moreover, student's ablility has to be considered as the factor before they register a subject. If universities just consider about equal numbers of male and female, they will gain low quality students because there is no rigorous selection before accepting them as students. For example, if there are just twenty students that choose a subject, twelve of them are male and others are female. After testing, most of the male have higher score, it is not better if we divide them in to the same number of male and female for that subject.

I therefore disaggre that universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. It will diminish universities' quality because students are not eligible enough to join that course. I hope there is tough procedures in universities before accepting students.
